We are very grateful to have lots of community support each year to pull off a ten-day fair. Each year we are blessed with sponsors, volunteers, non-profits, school groups, 4-H, the sheriff’s department, local bands and, of course, Kiwanians.

This year, we have four sponsors already committed to helping the Newnan Kiwanis Club.
Buffalo Rock, Southtowne, Southern Credit Federal Union and West Georgia Technical College have all stepped up to the plate. We are looking forward to tweeting about some special prizes just for supporting our sponsors, so be on the lookout.

Also, we couldn’t cover our bases enough without the volunteer support from many of the organizations that we help with funding from the fair proceeds. These volunteers come out and help us sell tickets, work in the exhibit hall and information booth. If you truly want to learn about the fantastic work these organizations are doing for our community just ask them what organization they are with and what they are doing for our children. It’s fascinating.

Speaking of fascinating, take a walk through the Ag building. The kids and families that are involved with 4-H are very dedicated and smart. Ask them what they’ve done to earn the ribbons on the cages and animals.

And Kiwanians – well, this is what we do, we work year-round to bring the fair back each year, with quality entertainment, clean family fun and all to benefit this community we live in. Come visit us though, anytime throughout the year. We meet at the Newnan Country Club every Tuesday at noon.

Mega Pass vs. Unlimited Ride Armband

With the purchase of a mega pass, you receive both admission to the fair and an unlimited ride armband for $25, a savings of $5. It can be used once for any day of the fair from Sept. 30 – Oct. 9, 2010. The Mega Pass must be purchased ahead of time – the sales end on Sept. 29th.

The unlimited ride armbands are also $25, but they are only available Monday – Thursday: all day, Saturdays: 12 noon – 4pm; Sunday 2pm – 6pm. The unlimited ride armbands are available on the midway from the ticket booths.

So, the mega pass gives you an unlimited ride armband any day during the open hours of the fair, but can only be used once per mega pass. It’s a great deal especially for Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday which are typically the busiest days on the midway.

Again, the important thing is to buy the mega pass ahead of time. It is available for online

Welcome to the 2010 Kiwanis Coweta County Fair community page. Over the next few months as the fair draws near, we’d like to spark some conversations about why we, the Newnan Kiwanis Club, bring the family fun fair back to our community year after year. Did you know that it is one of the largest fundraising efforts in our county each year? With 100% of the profits going back into our community, how can you not come out and support our efforts?

This year is an exciting year for us. Why? Well, for the first time in over 47 years, we are using a new carnival company – Dixieland. They’ve promised us awesome new rides, clean courteous staff, and dedicated management. We’re already impressed and the end of September hasn’t even arrived.

During this time on the blog, feel free to comment, ask questions, request topics, etc. We are here to make each year the best year ever while keeping in mind the overall goal – supporting the children of our area through our fundraising efforts. We will explain more about the mega pass and benefits of buying ahead of time, share about many of our grantees, hear from some 4-Hers, possibly offer some incentives to our blog readers through our sponsors, so keep coming back.
